The book does focus on design but offers almost nothing on technique. It does describe to the reader how to create pine trees versus deciduous trees but|About the Author|Dick Armstrong lives in Oregon, where he has been an active woodburner for many years.

There are more complex ways to do it., with fancy controls, a hundred different burning tips. But here Dick Armstrong reminds us that the art of woodburning is more in the technique than the tools. Using a single-tip, simple woodburner, he goes back to the basics, starting with the skills that every woodburner should know and then applying them in three projects.
